Mr.Snu & Sir Matthew

BIOGRAPHY

These folks know how to make a sexy party! Kick off them high heels, fill 'r up once again, get down tonight.

Panic in the Streets of Melle, Panic in the streets of Zomergem. Hang the deejay, Hang the deejay! It could have been a song by The Smiths, but it describes equally well the early career of Snu & Matthew. After some years in which Matthew felt the musical thorn in his side, he met Snu. A mutual friend introduced them in a pub in Ghent. They talked about the noise, and how it's hard to hear your own voice above the sub-bass.

They seemed to share a love for music and a passion for beats. "I have been taught well" Snu once declared on how he got involved in deejaying. "When I am Plato, Matthew's my Socrates." Snu got his PhD in Deejaying from Matthew five years ago, and from that moment they started doing gigs together.

Their career started in the rural area around Ghent, where they played on small parties on which they entertained the local youth. Attracted by the bright lights of the big city, they moved from the countryside to Ghent to do gigs in some popular underground bars in the city centre. That's how they got picked up in 2006. That year they did a modest claim to fame and became the residents of the notorious Fais La Fête parties in Ghent. They also did a gig in one of Ghent's main concert halls (Vooruit).

As life is a moving train, things went bigger harder faster and stronger in 2007 for Snu & Matthew. They were offered a residency on the Yuck Fou Too parties at Tijuana Club - Ghent, and made a landslide through Belgium as they were asked to play on parties all over the country. Their sudden uprise was visible even in Montpellier - France, where they were asked to do their first party abroad. One of the French visitors there declared that he preferred a party meal served by Snu&Mattew over a dish frog's legs. Back in Belgium, they played in Belgium's most infamous night club Culture Club which launched the career of deejays such as Soulwax aka 2 many djs and The Glimmers.

This year has been remarkable, with gigs in several highly acclaimed Belgian night clubs such as Make-Up Club (Ghent), Charlatan (Ghent), Fuse (Brussels) alongside international acts such as Marc Romboy, Spirit Catcher, Terry Toner, The Subs and Shameboy. Also they were offered a residency in one of Ghent's fanciest clubs Tijuana following Smos & Baby B, Timaxx, Nadiem Shah and Freres Deluxe.

Nobody knows what tomorrow may bring, but what September will bring is no longer a mystery to Snu&Matthew. They will be playing on Antwerp's biggest outdoor dance festival, Laundry Day. In a clean shirt, they'll be playing their Dancing Your Ass Off style music on the Disco Stage alongside artists such as Aeroplane and Spacid.

From October 2008 on, Snu & Matthew will be responsible for the musical management and dj bookings at Ghent based club Tijuana. With a mix of new and successful concepts from the past, they will serve you music from the highest level.
